所有地点以温哥华岛,BC省南部和BC省北部分类。在这么多地点中,主页獭比较推荐的地点有维多利亚附近的Goldstream Park,BC省内陆的威化溪鲑鱼产卵水道和Adams River。如果不想走太远的话也可以参观一下北温的卡皮拉诺鲑鱼孵化场。另外注意在观看鲑鱼洄游的时候不要离它们太近,也绝对不要干扰它们,因为它们已经很累的了。

Directions: Drive north 19 km from Victoria on Highway 1; the park is located at
beginning of Malahat Drive.
Species: Chum salmon, with some coho, chinook and steelhead

chinook in late October and early November; steelhead spawn early in February.

Directions: Drive 8 km north on Port Renfrew/Lake Cowichan Rd. about 2 km east of
Fairy Lake campsite.
Species: Chinook and coho with some chum, sockeye and pink
Best Times: Adult chinook and coho October to December; juvenile chinook and coho
March to May.

4 NITINAT RIVER HATCHERY
Location: Nitinat Lake, West Coast of Vancouver Island
Directions: The hatchery is near Nitinat Lake, 70 km southeast of Port Alberni.
Leaving Port Alberni, follow the gravel road towards Bamfield. At Franklin Camp, follow
signs to left towards Nitinat Lake. Hatchery is located on the right hand side of the
road, at the confluence of the Big and Little Nitinat Rivers. Watch for hatchery signs.
Access also by logging road from Lake Cowichan.
Species: Chum, chinook, coho
Best Times: Adult salmon during October and November; juvenile rearing April and
May.
Other Attractions: Outdoor activities include boating, camping, fishing and
windsurfing. Close to Pacific Rim National Park and Carmanah Valley.

5 STAMP FALLS FISHWAY
Location: Port Alberni, on the Stamp River
Directions: Drive west on Highway 4 out of Port Alberni and turn right on Beaver
Creek Road; proceed for about 12 km and turn left into Stamp Falls Provincial Park.
Species: Sockeye, coho and chinook and steelhead
Best Times: Adult sockeye in mid-July; coho in August and
October; chinook in September and October.
Other Attractions: Camping and picnicking in the provincial park; fishing for coho and
chinook when regulations permit, although the area from 50 metres above the Falls to
200 metres below the Falls is closed to anglers. Seasonal closure, check with DFO.

6 ROBERTSON CREEK HATCHERY
Location: Port Alberni
Directions: Drive through Port Alberni on Highway 4 and turn right on Great Central

Location: Ucluelet
Directions: From Highway 4 turn towards Port Albion; approximately 2 km on road
towards Port Albion there is a sign on a tree for the Thornton hatchery. Turn right on
the road by the sign and continue for 1 km, hatchery is on the right-hand side.
Species: Chum, chinook and coho
Best Times: Adults mid-October to November; juveniles, March-June.

Location: Near Duncan on the Cowichan River
Directions: Turn east on Boys Road after first bridge south of Duncan; follow Boys
Road to its end and keep right on gravel road. There are signs for the hatchery.

Best Times: Juvenile chinook April-May; juvenile coho February-June.

Directions: In Campbell River, turn off the Island Highway to Gold River and Tahsis;
the hatchery is located 40 km from Gold River; look for hatchery sign by side of road.

Best Times: Adult chum October-November; coho in November; chinook September-

DIrections: Follow the entrance way to Quatse River Campsite off Island Hwy No.1.

January; juveniles in June.

Directions: 10 km west of Savona on Hwy #1, turn on Deadman/ Vidette Road. Seven

Species: Rainbow and kokanee
Best Times: Juvenile rainbow July to mid-September; kokanee, January-April. Open 8

Location: Near Squilax
Directions: Leave Highway 1 at Squilax, about 10 km east of Chase; follow the signs
to Adams River.
Species: Sockeye salmon
Best Times: Sockeye spawn in late October.

1.5 to 2.0 million sockeye spawn here; next dominant runs 1998, 2002, 2006, every
four years thereafter.

Directions: West on Highway 16 from Prince George to Houston; turn left 3 km west of
Houston onto Morice Forest Road; follow this road past Owen Lake to Nadina Lake
turnoff (Tahtsa Road); follow Tahtsa Road for 30 km almost to Nadina Lake; signs will
direct you to the Nadina River Salmon Project.

Location: Prince Rupert on Oldfield Creek
Directions: Driving into Prince Rupert on Highway 16, pass new performing arts
theatre and turn left onto Wantage Road. Hatchery is on your right about 900 meters
(1/2 mile) from turn. Look for hatchery sign on road.
Species: Coho, pink and chinook
Best Times: Pink salmon and chinook in creek in September; adult coho at hatchery
late October-early November. Juveniles year-round.

Location: Bella Coola
Directions: Fly to Bella Coola or take Highway 20 west from Williams Lake. There are
hatchery signs both east and west on Highway 20 indicating where to turn off for
hatchery.
Species: Chum, chinook, steelhead
Best Times: Chum, July-August; chinook and pink, August-September; steelhead,
June. Juveniles, February-July.
Other Attractions: Camping and fishing, Tweedsmuir Park, pink and other species
may be viewed at the Atnarko spawning channel. Chum are spawned during first two
weeks in August at four different sites; the Airport Side Channel, Salloomt River,
Thorsen Creek, and Snootli Creek. Fence weirs are put in the water and the fish may
be viewed close up.
